QUESTION
3:
Reiki, which means life force energy, is a method of directing chi
through the practitioners hands to a recipient. A Reiki practitioner
receives attunements from a Reiki Master, one who has received all
of the attunements and has been practicing for a while. The attunements
are said to open the hands to a greater flow of chi. During the
attunement process the student practitioner is instructed regarding
the history of Reiki, given an understanding of the meaning of energy
work, and learns the use of symbols for specific types of
healing and the proper use of hand positions. Is it necessary to
go through the process of attunements and learning symbols, or are
we able to access this healing modality naturally and improve it
with practice on our own?
QUESTION
4:
What is the best way to use quartz crystals, lapis lazuli and other
minerals so that the mineral kingdom can help me with balance, healing
and energy work?
QUESTION
5:
You have suggested that we eat a raw food diet one to three days
a week. I eat beans and tofu every day for protein. How can we get
enough protein eating three days of raw food, and how do you know
if you are getting enough protein?
QUESTION 1:
Phoenix Rising: You have
often said that you did not vote for free will, and at the Lexington
workshop in February 2004, you stated that the alternative to free
will would have been total knowledge. You also said that fear comes
from not knowing, bringing forth the need for security-based control.
What then are the prevailing reasons for, and the advantages of,
a free-will system?
Samuel: Free
will provides two things that having all knowledge does not provide,
things that might be considered the advantages of a free-will system.
First, free will provides new, unexpected, undefined activity, and
that allows for faster growth toward wholeness. Ultimately, moving
faster to wholeness is a good thing, but, unfortunately, it also
means that your stuff, your challenges to wholeness,
are coming up faster, as well. Now, do I think thats a problem?
No, I think its great. But if you fear failure, then that
very free-will advantage means that you might hole up in a cave
and not come out because you dont want the pain that comes
with dealing with your stuff in an accelerated fashion.
The second thing is that free will creates a relationship
to Sourcemind you, I did not say with Sourceto Source
that would not otherwise be available. The thing you need to remember
with that one, before you think Oh, thats a good thing,
is that if you have all knowledge, the relationship would be with
Source.
Free will keeps you functioning through the Hierarchy,
and having all knowledge bypasses the Hierarchy.
QUESTION 2:
Within the last few months, one of my sons has been experiencing
something that has been described to us as astral travel. During
this event, he finds himself in a half dream, half awake state.
He feels temporarily paralyzed, and during his first experience
he felt as though some outside force was holding him down. Emotionally,
he felt angry and/or agitated. While this was happening, he recalled
having a dream of being in a place that seemed very familiar, but
not being able to name the place or people he recognized in the
dream. In subsequent, similar events, he described what felt like
energy moving in and out of his body. I have heard from other people
who have had similar experiences and was hoping you would be able
to explain the nature of these events and why they happen. What
is happening while a person is experiencing them? Is it necessary
to protect oneself during the occurrence, and how does one do that?
My biggest concern in answering this question
is that somebody will say, Well this is about that particular
situation and it doesnt apply to my situation. But the
truth is that the answer Im giving is important and useful
for everybody, even though its a personal situation.
Remember, everybody experiences everything in
his or her own unique fashion, and reality for you is different
than reality for the next person. Even the three of you in this
room all have a different understanding of what is going on. That
makes itand I dont use this word oftenwrong for
anybody to look at someone elses experience and define it:
Oh, what you were doing was this. Having said that,
Im now going to do that very thing.
With these things in mind, what does it mean to
you: Greater is that which is in you than that which is in
the world? What it should mean to you is there is nothing
outside of you that has the slightest hope of ever doing anything
to you, good or bad, that is not the result of your brain okaying
it. The sense that something is holding you back is a natural, human
need to make something anthropomorphic, the very human tendency
to put form on feeling. So I am not trying to set aside or belittle
the experiences of this person as I am explaining this, but those
thingsthe key words being felt anger, felt
held backare fear reactions. You need to remember that
a newly awakened spirit awareness is very hampered by physical fear,
because the physical self is afraid of that greater spiritual being
taking over, and the physical selfs whole job is to keep you
safe in the world. Ego translates your emotional feelings into
what thats going to mean in your day-to-day experience, and
if it fits with the things you consider successful and those things
youre good at, then it defines it as a good thing. If its
something it doesnt know, then its watch and be
wary. And if its something it knows but associates with
a negative experience, its fear: Get away from this.
The fact of it is, every one of you, as Guardians,
has gone through that transition of learning that the physical self
is working to protect you, and its afraid. And you have had
to learn how to recognize its fearswhich sounds a whole lot
like what the interview began withand adjust yourself accordingly
to either let it be a fear you act on or to gently and sweetly ignore
it and put it aside. But when you are beginning that awakening process,
the neat spiritual experience, tra-la-la, is a whole lot weaker
than the twenty, forty, sixty years youve had in security
mode, keeping yourself alive.
So the first thing is, fear is a very typical
response to a spiritual behavior. What is that spiritual behavior?
When you are asleep or in a semi-sleeping or a trance-like statemaybe
you would think of it as daydreamingwith just a little bit
of conscious awareness, your physical security system is functioning
at a lower level. This allows your spirit to connect into the physical
body more freely, to be more functional, perhaps. As a result, these
are times in which your natural physical powers function at their
highest level, which means that you are able to see more, hear more,
understand more; your intuition is brighter, your awareness of the
whole is greater, and it can seem to the uninitiated that you are
literally out of this dimension, this realm, when in fact youre
not. Its only that youre unfamiliar with having that
sort of heightened function.
There is no possible harm that can come to a dimensional
traveler, there is no possible harm, even to the uninitiated who
have no idea whats going on and barely any awareness that
it happened. Its not possible. And any feeling that harm is
there is that physical fear response to an unknown.
Now, I said all of that to land at this one place:
If you can eliminate the emotional translation and allow yourself
to trust your Greater Self, allow those experiences to happen without
judgment, without seeking a familiar pattern, youre going
to build up a collection of safe experiencesmeaning safe as
far as the brain is concerned. That will allow you to begin practicing
that art and doing it purposefully, rather than having it happen
to you.
Remember that those things that activate your
highest spiritual functions should be normal to you. They shouldnt
feel extraordinary. Dont judge that the ritual was good because
it gave you the heebie-jeebies. That means that you werent
fully there, not that it was better than the last one.
So put all of that together and dont give
yourself a hard time for feeling afraid. Learn to adapt to it and
to overcome those instinctive security issues. If you let yourself
practice and dont judge by the heebie-jeebies, youre
going to find that you are taking a very large step to being able
to move out of this dimension and function at higher ones. That
is another way of saying moving beyond this personality into the
greater Personality that you are and the experiences that are going
on, along with this one, in different time zones.
QUESTION 3:
Technology, like ritual, is useful. Its
useful particularly for those who are either afraid of or not yet
in tune with their own spiritual abilities. The technology provides
a doorway. The problem with technology, of course, is that you begin
thinking that its the system thats working instead of
you. You begin thinking that the proper steps, hand motions, and
calling in a ritual are what creates the result, the opening of
a Heart Portal, rather than realizing that One Heart, One Mind,
One Body created an energy that opened that portal.
The magic words arent the magic.
Thats right. The magic words click that
place in you that says This is real and, boom, you think
its happening because of that.
Do you need the technology to have the result?
Well, now, I cant answer that, can I? I would have to ask
back, Do you? I think it can be very useful and, in
fact, often encouraging. Learn the system, practice it to perfection,
and then watch what happens. Every Guardian will find, I promise,
that they start modifying that system. Guardians cant help
it, because its not the system that makes it work.
Am I saying Reiki isnt real? No. Am I saying
dont waste your time? No. Im saying that if the technology
is what you need in order for you to accept and believe and know
what you are capable of, then by all means go for it. But be aware
that once youve got it, have put it into action and are mastering
it, its going to evolve. Its going to evolve because
you are going to find that as you do those techniques, certain things
happen that werent in the book. And then pretty soon youre
going to find that it works so much better than the original system
that eventually you end up creating your own version.
My preference is that you move straight to Go,
and bypass Jailreally.
QUESTION 4:
What is the best way to use quartz crystals, lapis lazuli and other
minerals so that the mineral kingdom can help me with balance, healing
and energy work?
The answer to that is that everything emanates
energy, and naturally if you throw a rock in a pond, those ripples
are going to move out to the boundaries. If you throw another rock
in, those ripples are going to meet the ripples that are already
there, and its going to have an additional effect.
However, as I explained in the previous question,
what you are capable of makes those subtle little energies seem
non-existent and unnecessary. But if what you need in order to reach
what you are truly capable of is meditating with a crystal or putting
activated, precious stones along the central body lines, go with
it; just dont think thats whats doing it.
QUESTION 5:
You have suggested that we eat a raw food diet one to three days
a week. I eat beans and tofu every day for protein. How can we get
enough protein eating three days of raw food, and how do you know
if you are getting enough protein?
If a raw food diet is not your normal way of eating,
only do it one day a week. If you dont have a diet that has
a lot of raw food in it and you give yourself three days of raw
food, youre going to have digestive challenges. One day a
week will achieve the purpose I had for putting you on raw foods.
I am really happy if you can do that. And with one day a week of
raw food, youre not going to do any damage if you dont
get enough protein, for instance.
But moving on to specifics about protein: You
dont need nearly as much as you think you do. A lot of the
reason people think they need more protein is that their diets have
been filled with things that require a lot of extra energy for the
body to digest, and high protein gives that extra energy. Ideally,
if you have a vegetarian diet, your protein needs are lower because
your body is using the foods that youre eating much more effectively.
Your body gets tired out trying to digest meat
and highly refined carbohydrates, but you think you need more protein
because your body is digesting a lot of trash, which makes you tired.
Single sources of protein are not good for your bodyand what
I mean by that is any one food that on its own has a high amount
of protein in itbecause that is not the optimal way for your
body to manage its protein needs.
Your body works better with combined protein.
So rather than fourteen grams of protein out of tofu, which for
the most part is going to run right through your system and not
be used, it is better to get those fourteen grams out of three different
foods that have smaller amounts of protein in them. Thats
the reason for that whole system of complementary proteinsbeans,
rice, squash, for instance.
Its a technology that gets involved, and
you can get carried away with it, but what Im saying is, if
you look for three small sources of protein that you combine together,
you are going to have a body that uses it much more easily and much
more effectively.
In a raw food diet, you can use nuts and seedsalthough
if youre consciously watching your weight, be careful, because
nuts and seeds tend to have a very high fat contentplants
and legumes. Plants include fruit, but the protein that you get
from fruit is very minor compared with the protein you get from
vegetables, and root vegetables are a better protein source than
leaf.
